If you are reading this post, I will assume you are new here. Let me introduce myself,
I am Craig Primack MD, FACP, FAAP, FOMA
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Obesity Medicine Physician
- Co-Founder of Scottsdale Weight Loss Center
- President-elect of the Obesity Medicine Association (obesitymedicine.org)
- Arizona Resident for 20 years but born and raised in Chicago, Illinois
- Father of 3 great kids (16, 14 and 9)
- Parent to 2 dogs, Cosmo and Zoey
My day job: Obesity medicine physician, which a fancy word for weight loss doctor
During my office day, I meet patients who have been struggling with their weight and have come to me for help
I also read food labels for them. I recommend or mostly don’t recommend specific dietary supplements. I encourage them to find an exercise they like. I help when they have marital problems, health problems and financial problems
I read (A LOT) of medical literature as you can guess, especially on obesity and weight loss but also a lot of other things in this world around us. I see and read sensational medical headlines like you see in the newspaper and online. My patients bring me articles from Facebook or from the internet on this and that every day. There is a sea of data out there. Its my job to sift through it and feed you the tasty morsels and help you to throw out the trash
I have been trained to read literature with a very critical eye. So much of what is found online, on TV, the radio and even from many physicians is just plain wrong OR surely has not been proven right
I am a regular runner, cyclist, hiker and weightlifter. I make it a priority many days a week.
That’s my regular day but I do so much more…
As you read this blog will learn about my diagnoses on weight loss, health, medicine, exercise, my dogs, and the world around us. I will go into great detail on the things that excite me about medicine, the work that I do and this spectacular world around us
That’s a bit of what I am here to do!
So, please, take a gown, remove all your clothes, put it on with the opening in the back and of course, the doctor will be right with you
Thanks in advance for visiting
