Healthy Chicken Soup with Broccoli Medical Minutes Episode 14

Hi, and welcome to another Medical Minute.Today, I’m going to do another recipe like I did last week.

Last week’s recipe was OPTIFAST-based protein ice cream. I got a lot of great comments about the ice cream, except the fact that it’s very sweet. A lot of people like sweet and healthy, but a lot of people also like savory.

So today’s recipe is healthy protein-based chicken soup with broccoli, which is the way I love it.

All you need is a chicken soup packet, broccoli, and water. 

Let me show you how to make it:

Here I am cutting the broccoli into bite-sized pieces. So I like to make them about that big. It surely isn’t Gordon Ramsay or one of the shows on TV, but I think I do pretty well. I like to put enough broccoli in so that it covers, as you can see, the bottom of the bowl. And then, with all the extra, put it in also.

Now we’re here at the microwave. I cook the broccoli by itself for 45 seconds. As soon as the broccoli is done, I take it out. I take just about a cup of water, and I like it for about a minute and a half. At a minute and a half, the water isn’t boiling, but it sure is hot. Take the water out, and I’m going to bring it over, put it right on top of my broccoli.

So here I have my broccoli again. Here’s my soup, and I have my water. The first thing I do is take my packet of soup, open it up, and I put it right on top of my broccoli. I take the water, after a minute and a half, I pour it right on top of the soup, and then I mix it with a spoon.

As you can see, it mixes pretty well. Now I will tell you, there are little clumps of soup that appear. I actually personally like a little bit of those clumps. They do have a lot of flavor in them. They give a little bit of texture. The more you stir up the soup, the less clumps there will be. You can take some of the clumps and push them against the wall like that.

Today’s recipe was a healthy chicken soup with broccoli. It has 16 grams of protein. It has 18 grams of carbohydrates, about 3 grams of fat. It is a healthy full-meal replacement.

You can eat five meal replacements a day, including one or two of these, a chicken soup with broccoli, and be a full meal-replacement to lose weight fast.
